Rick has been a principal with AJS since 1971. He has been a driving force in growing AJS from a small local agency to the areas largest provider of insurance products and related services, with offices in Bullhead City, Kingman, Lake Havasu City (home office), and now our newest location in Mojave, CA.
Mr. Stephens' insurance industry experience includes over thirty (30) years exceptionally broad insurance exposure due to his "practical hands on day to day" underwriting, rating, risk and exposure analysis, claims handling, policy/coverage negotiation, and agency management and includes all facets of coverages from Property & Casualty, Bonding, Employee Benefits and Life Insurance.
Rick has earned and maintained the professional designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) since August 1993. This designation requires successful completion of five (5) twenty (20) hour insurance industry courses covering Commercial Liability, Commercial Property, Life & Health, Personal Lines Insurance, and Agency Management. Continuing education consisting of successful completion of twenty (20) hours additional education per year is required to maintain CIC designation. He has currently completed two (2) of five (5) parts required to obtain the designation of Certified Risk Manager (CRM).
Rounding out Mr. Stephens' credentials is the carrier credibility which is derived from his industry seniority, successful completion of numerous insurance trade technical courses, active participation on many insurer sponsored agent advisory councils, and reputation for underwriting profitable business to the mutual benefit of his clients and insurers.
Rick is licensed in the State of Arizona as an Agent, Broker, and Surplus Broker. Additionally, he is properly licensed as a non resident Agent and Broker in the States of California, Nevada and Hawaii.
