Greg has been a member of the AJS team since January of 1996. Upon graduation from college, Greg was recruited by The St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company as a Surety and Fidelity Bond trainee for St. Paul's largest contract bond branch office in Atlanta, GA. After successfully completing the St. Paul training program Greg was placed in
the Lubbock, TX branch as a Surety and Fidelity Bond Underwriter, later being promoted to a Surety and Fidelity Bond Field Supervisor. While working in the Lubbock branch office for approximately seven years, Greg's responsibilities included marketing and underwriting of contract, fidelity, financial institution and miscellaneous bond business, including development and coordination of agency bond contacts.
Ordway-Saunders Company, a large independent insurance agency located in Amarillo, TX, coaxed Greg to leave St. Paul and try the agency side of the business as Bond Manager. Ordway-Saunders, at that time, was the largest bond agency in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Responsibilities included department management, production, placement of agency business, and underwriting authority for approximately 20-25 surety bond markets represented by Ordway-Saunders Company.
National Guaranty Insurance Company hired Greg in January of 1990 as Underwriting Manager for their home office located in Tempe, AZ. National Guaranty was a relatively new surety bond-only company, and Greg's responsibilities included marketing, underwriting, agency development, rate filing and system administrator for the company and a related agency, involving about 15 work stations. When National Guaranty owners decided to move the home office to Santa Fe, NM, Greg and his family were reluctant to leave Arizona, and the opportunity to work for AJS arose.
Greg oversees the marketing, underwriting and placement of AJS's surety and fidelity bond business. This includes responsibility for in-house authority programs granted to the agency by various surety bond companies that AJS
represents. For contractors, he will assist in establishment and maintenance of
contract perform and payment bond lines, as well as assistance for contractors,
firms or individuals needing any other type of surety or fidelity bonding.
Greg is licensed in the State of Arizona as an Agent for Property and Casualty.
